As I said in my last post, "Avatar" has a soul. James Cameron's tale of Pandora is equivalent to Shakespeare during the 15th or 16th century. Just like Shakespeare's "Hamlet" or "Romeo and Juliet", "Avatar" gets it's soul from it characters, it's story and it's settings (Pandora). I think one of the most important parts of "Avatar"'s soul is the story. Oh sure, it isn't that original, but anything nowadays, in cinema, theatre, television, and books, is never original. That's because every possible angle has been used in all these things, with the exception of the protagonist winning, (no one will ever see that one coming... wink ). Avatar dosn't have a very original story, it's true, and the problem is every freakin critic that can blame this amazing movie or put it down always target's it's storyline, (mainly because they can't target anything else...). Sure it's a simple story, but it;'s the PERFECT story for this movie. It just fits in all perfectly. It's basic, but that's what is so nice about it. It's pretty much delivered "as is", and dosn't get all kerfuddled or bamboozled like other movies nowadays. It's short, it's simple, it's perfect, and as a result, we have more time to focus not so much on the story of the movie, but more of the characters and (of course) the mind blowing graphics. The story isn't at the front of a crowd screaming it's head off yelling "LOOK AT ME!!!", it steps aside and acts as a guideline which we can refer to when we are seeing characters like Jake, Norm, and Neytiri "Growing up " in the movie. It's a love story, and action story, a war story, and several others. It incorparates almost evey single way to have or tell a story, meshes it all together, and makes one huge, perfect story which anyone can follow, young or old, and helps develop the characters. Like I've said, it's not original, but can you really blame James Cameron? No. He started with nothing, no new, original, basic plot line, and then made it blossom into an epic tale that pretty much everyone wishes it were real. (Remeber, the best stories are the ones that will most likely or will never come true...) So,with that, I'll rap up another post, and start thinking about what I can say for tomorrow's post on "The setting's of Avatar" or some stupid title like that. If you got comments, please post em, love the feedback! ty.
